Zane Tate – Empowering the interior design industry in NZ

Zane Is an Interior Designer, entrepreneur, and founder of the Independent Design Collective (IDC). The IDC is a group of professional, experienced, interior designers who are committed to providing their clients the best products and services New Zealand has to offer.


Zane Tate has been working in the Interior Design industry for the past 12 years, and he established his own company, Zane Tate Design, seven years ago. Alongside creating beautiful homes and spaces for his clients, Zane also founded the Independent Design Collective (IDC) to promote a collaborative design community in New Zealand.  Through the IDC, Zane brings together professional, independent, interior designers in New Zealand.


Zane also launched the New Zealand Interior Design Fair, which serves as a platform for designers and architects to connect with suppliers, attend educational seminars, and network with each other.

The Independent Design Collective is on a mission to unite the best independent designers from throughout New Zealand to elevate the profile of the design industry in this country, and

  • make it easy for customers to find a designer who is the right fit for them, allow customers to have confidence in the quality of service they will receive.
  • create a community of learning, support, and benefits for independent companies in the interior design industry.
  • promote and build up the network of New Zealand’s independent interior designers. 
  • build the profile of the design industry in this country.
